About this site

Passwords

Most of Interactive Deterrence is open to everyone. The Indo-Pacific section, the dissertation games and tools still in development are password protected: their data files are encrypted, and your browser decrypts them after you enter the password. The password never leaves your browser.

Data policy

Every tool lists its sources, from FAS, SIPRI and the IAEA to government statements and peer-reviewed research. In the Indo-Pacific section, Taiwan Strait counts and events come from the Taiwan Security Monitor's trackers and the official sources they cite, such as Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense and Coast Guard Administration. Where a model needs a value nobody publishes, the tool marks it notional. Nothing is invented, and nothing is targeting-grade.
